US military bases continue to use surveillance cameras made by Chinese company Hikvision, despite security concerns that the cameras could allow the Chinese government to spy on sensitive US military facilities, according to the Financial Times. Government agencies will be banned from buying the device starting in August.

The Financial Times found that Peterson Air Force Base in Colorado spent $112,000 on Hikvision-made cameras in 2016.

The Air Force Space Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) are both headquartered in Peterson. NORAD's mission is to ensure the sovereignty of American and Canadian airspace and to protect them from attack.

A naval research base in Orlando, Fla., purchased $4,000 worth of Hikvision cameras after last year's passage of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), which prohibits the purchase of such equipment.

Both bases told The Financial Times that the cameras were not connected to the Internet. The Florida base said the cameras were used as part of a training system. A spokesman for Peterson said the cameras "were not related to base security or classified areas" and that the systems would be replaced.

Military Security Cameras

The Chinese government owns 42% of Hikvision. Hikvision and Zhjiang Dahua Technology Co., another company banned by the NDAA, control about a third of the global video surveillance market, according to Bloomberg.

Cameras Improve Mass Transit Security

The 2019 NDAA cites several concerns about Chinese state-linked companies using technology such as Hikvision cameras to exploit security holes and access sensitive government information. Hikvision responded to the legislation at the time, saying it was "not based on evidence, a review of potential security risks, or an investigation."

The ban also extends to Huawei products and Hytera radios; The US State Department recently bought Hytera replacement parts for its embassy in Guatemala for $20,000, and since 2017, the Army's special forces have been using Hytera radios in training, reports the Financial Times.

Other bases, including Fort Drum in New York and Camp Lejeune in North Carolina, bought Hikvision cameras in 2018, but did not tell the Financial Times if they were still in use. As of 2018, the Defense Logistics Agency had purchased nearly $180,000 worth of Hikvision cameras for bases in Korea and Florida, but did not confirm to The Financial Times whether the cameras were still in use.

Last year, five Hikvision cameras were removed from Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, although base spokesman Col. Christopher Beck told the Wall Street Journal, "We never believed [the cameras] were a security threat. They were always closed-loop" and that the cameras were removed to prevent "what any negative perception".Titanium Long Range Pan Tilt Zoom thermal imaging flir camera Gimbal LONG RANGE THERMAL IR IMAGING PTZ FLIR MWIR COOLING CAMERA | PART #SPI-M9X Long Range Flir Camera

Military Secret Service - The Secret Service Counterattack Team (CAT) was established in the late 1970s in individual field offices to neutralize an attack on the protected as quickly as possible. Before it was part of the PPD, the counterattack group was part of the Special Services Division.

The Counter Assault Team (CAT) is a specialized tactical unit of the United States Secret Service. It provides tactical support to the Presidential Guard to protect the President of the United States. This is distinct from the Presidential Protection Unit, which is tasked with protecting the President from attack and evacuating the President to a safe location. The Counter-Attack Team (CAT) can also provide tactical support to others who need protection at locations and national product security events.

Military Secret Service

After the assassination of President William McKinley in 1901, Congress mandated the Secret Service to protect the President of the United States. Defense remains the primary mission of the United States Secret Service. In today's Secret Service, the branch directly responsible for the personal security of the President and the First Family is the Presidential Protection Division (PPD).

A U.s. Secret Service Agent (r) Runs A Metal Detector Over A U.s. Soldier Before Allowing Her To Enter The Memorial Chapel On The Grounds Of The U.s. Military Garrison Of Yongsan

This department constantly maintains a tight perimeter of agents around those under their protection. It also implements enhanced security checks for presidential visits and important events. Since 1992, the PPD has included a special unit known as the Counter Assault Team (CAT).

Some methods of Secret Service protection are generally the same for all protected persons. Permanent bodyguards, such as the President and First Lady, have information about 3 to 5 special agents assigned to them. Temporary guards, such as candidates and foreign dignitaries, have information about special agents assigned temporarily from Secret Service offices.

The Secret Service doesn't go into detail about methods and means, but generally speaking, the advance team investigates every location they visit. From these surveys, participants determine manpower, equipment, hospitals, and emergency evacuation routes.

Firefighters, rescuers and other public service employees have been warned. A command post with full communication facilities is established. Assistance from military, federal, state, county, and local law enforcement organizations is an essential part of any security operation.

Prior to the detainee's arrival, the lead agent coordinates all law enforcement personnel participating in the visit. Employees are assigned and notified of specific attendance issues. Intelligence is discussed, identification is indicated, and emergency options are described. Before the arrival of the guard, checkpoints are set up and access to the protected area is restricted.

During the visit, the Secret Service and local law enforcement form a support network to support the protected detail. The Secret Service command post acts as the communications center for defense operations, monitoring emergency situations and coordinating all parties involved. After the visit, agents analyze every step of the defense operation, record unusual incidents and suggest improvements for the future.

Defense studies are an important part of all security operations. Technicians and engineers design, test, and maintain technical devices and equipment necessary to provide a safe environment for those protected by the service.

Military Secret Service

Agents and specialists assigned to defense research also evaluate information received from other law enforcement and intelligence agencies about individuals or groups who may pose a threat to protected individuals. This information is essential for service protection planning.

A single unit of the Secret Service, originally composed of several military personnel and members of the Metropolitan Police Department, officially began guarding the White House and its grounds in 1860. This unit was under the command of the military aide of the White House until 1922. When President Warren Harding pushed for the creation of the White House Police.

It wasn't until 1930, after an unknown assailant managed to break into the White House dining room, that President Herbert Hoover realized that the White House Police and the Secret Service needed to join forces. President Hoover only wanted the Secret Service to control all aspects of the President's protection; Congress therefore placed oversight of the White House police under the direction of the head of the Secret Service.

In 1970, Public Law 91-217 expanded the role of the White House Police, recently renamed the Executive Protective Service, to include the protection of diplomatic missions in the Washington, D.C. area. Later, in 1974, Congress added to the Executive Protection Service's expanded responsibilities the protection of the Vice President's family.

After several name revisions, the force officially adopted its current name in 1977, the Uniformed Division of the United States Secret Service. While protecting the White House complex remains its primary mission, the unit's responsibilities have expanded significantly over the years.

While the White House underwent extensive renovations in 1950, President Harry Truman lived across the street from the Blair House. Army veteran Leslie Coffelt was on duty at a booth outside the building when two Puerto Rican nationalists approached from opposite directions.

One of them, Griselio Torresola, brutally shot Coffelt while he was on guard. But Coffelt wouldn't just sit down and take it. His answer would prevent Torresola from entering the house and save Truman's life.

Military Secret Service

Torresola and co-conspirator Oscar Collazo were supporters of the movement seeking independence for Puerto Rico from the United States. Truman's assassination was part of that independence, even though Truman supported the island's autonomy.

14:00. On November 1, 1950, the two approached Blair House from the east and west, knowing they would die trying. A Colossus coming from the east side of the building shot Capitol Police Officer Donald Birdzel in the leg. This shot alerted members of the Secret Service, who quickly responded.

In one of the largest shootings in Secret Service history, three officers opened fire on Collazo. The alleged killer was hit in the chest, but not killed. While they engaged in gunfire on the east side of the building, Torresola approached from the west.

Truman woke up and looked out the window to see what was going on. The Secret Service yelled at him to run out the window as Coffelt emerged from the security booth, ready for anything.

Coffelt was a Virginia native who spent most of his life as a police officer in Washington state before being recruited in 1942 to become the forerunner of the uniformed Secret Service unit known as the White House Police Force. He wasn't there long.

Biden Caught On Camera Apparently Mistaking Salvation Army For Secret Service During El Paso Trip

After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor in 1941, Coffelt, who was an expert marksman, saw his skills being used elsewhere and enlisted in the US Army infantry the following year. Unfortunately, medical problems forced him to leave the army after two years, and he never saw action. He returned to the White House Police.

As the officers continued to exchange fire with Collazo, Torresola approached Coffett and shot him four times, hitting him three times in the torso and once through his uniform. Believing Coffelt to be dead, the gunman walked out and shot two other officers.

After shooting the other officers, Torresola ran out of ammunition and retreated a few steps to reload. Coffelt got up, walked out of the cockpit and shot Torresol in the head at a distance of 30 feet. Kofelt then succumbed to his wounds.

Collazo was captured, tried and convicted. A federal court sentenced the Puerto Rican nationalist to death, but President Truman commuted the sentence to life imprisonment. In 1979, he was released and returned to Puerto Rico.

Coffelt is one of four Secret Service agents today to have taken a bullet while protecting the president. Three of them were at Blair's home that day, including Coffelt, Byrdzel, and Officer Joseph Downs. A fourth, Tim McCarthy, was shot in the chest in 1981 while defending President Ronald Reagan by alleged assassin John Hinckley Jr. McCarthy has also recovered from injuries.

Military Section 8 - The 8th Armored Infantry Division, or Section 8, is an elite military unit of the American Empire, nicknamed after the military term used to describe psychologically disturbed soldiers.

Prior to the division's creation, many of the Empire's frontline combat duties were performed by an army of genetically enhanced super soldiers whose mission was to destroy all threats to humanity's interstellar expansion. While these super-soldiers won numerous victories for the Empire and enabled it to rapidly expand across the galaxy, the unstable genetic enhancements began to mutate each soldier both physically and mentally, making them increasingly violent. Sensing the growing instability of this dangerous force, the Empire began to devise plans to replace the super soldiers with a more reliable but equally deadly military force.

Military Section 8

Military Section 8

Thus, new units such as the 8th Armored Infantry Division were formed from leading officers who pioneered the Armored Infantry's doctrines, tactics, and famous Burning In method of deployment. The newly formed 8th Armored quickly proved itself in combat and was given the Section 8 designation, as the missions performed by these soldiers were often considered suicidal. However, the great success of Section 8 proved the effectiveness of this new replacement force, and several armored infantry divisions were soon formed and expanded. Section 8 soon became part of the official frontline of the American Empire, the Armored Infantry, for an unknown number of years before deserting and eventually being rebelled by the genetically enhanced super soldiers, who would later form Orion's Spear.

Flags Of The United States Armed Forces

True to their name, the division's standard deployment method is ejecting Sky Crane dropships thousands of feet above the ground and Burning In to the battlefield. Thus, the term is given to the soldiers of this unit because they are the pioneers of the "mad" armored infantry tactics that ensured USIF supremacy throughout the galaxy, turning entire battles and wars in favor of the American Empire.

Once deployed, they use relentless fast-attack tactics against their enemies, using on-demand locations and vehicles to devastating effect.

Thanks to their relentless training, they use advanced USIF Powered Assault Armor with deadly efficiency. They also use powerful, state-of-the-art rail and plasma weapons, capable of fooling even the most heavily armored infantry units and vehicles. Last year's Section 8 was a massive sci-fi multiplayer shooter where you could play as a futuristic super soldier, equipped with powerful weapons, high-tech gadgets and a power suit that allows you to run so fast that you can literally kill your enemies by meeting them head first. While the first game was ambitious and the scope was arguably beyond its reach, developer TimeGate Studios is already back for round two with Section 8: Prejudice, a full-fledged sequel intended to improve on everything in the original game.

While the developer created the first game as a multiplayer shooter, he readily admits that the first game's single-player campaign, which was actually a multiplayer primer, left something to be desired. As such, the developer is working on a fully story-based single-player campaign that will deal with the conflict between Section 8's elite soldiers and their sworn enemies, a militia force known as the Arm of Orion (which, it turns out, has been secretly controlled by a shadowy faction of elite soldiers who may have been Section 8's predecessors). You can expect a full campaign to last around five hours, with nine missions taking place in different environments and voiceovers in between.

We checked out a few missions in the single-player game, including the training mission (which starts at the Section 8 firing range), as well as a mission where we had to destroy guarded air turrets on the ground using the explosive bag device to blow them up . We then moved on to the next mission, a deployment of airdrops made possible by the removal of the anti-aircraft guns on solid ground. This gave us the chance to see the Section 8s drop game in action. When you fall, you're actually seeing your character from above, from a third-person perspective, as he plummets to the ground below. And because you can control the direction of its fall, if you're skilled enough, you might be able to split an enemy by landing directly on its head (this applies to both single player and multiplayer).

Next, we jumped over to see the new Swarm mode in action - a co-operative multiplayer mode where you and your friends must hold an outpost against hordes of increasingly tough enemies that start on foot and eventually bring heavy mechanized suits and even tanks. bump. Fortunately, you can too. Over the course of the match and in other multiplayer matches, your character will earn experience points that will actually carry over from match to match and will allow you to select various higher level deployable items such as stationary gun turrets, custom tanks, and the new hoverbike vehicle, which moves even faster than overdrive sprints (and is just as deadly if you run over an enemy at top speed).

In Swarm mode, your enemies swarm your base from all sides for a chance at the outpost command console - the key to victory or defeat in Swarm mode. You and your friends can use the console to switch weapons and gadget payloads during battle, but if the enemy captures this key point, you'll have a very short time to recapture the console until you and your teammates suffer the agony of defeat.

Military Section 8

Swarm mode challenges you to defend a remote outpost against hordes of enemies in all-out combat.

Surveys: Special Ops Troops Doubt Women Can Do The Job

With Section 8: Prejudice, developer TimeGate clearly intends to fix all the problems of the previous game and make a much better game, based on both the studio's own observations and the community's many feedbacks. The game will be released early next year.

WASHINGTON — Surveys show men in the U.S. special operations forces don't believe women can meet the physical and mental demands of their command positions, and they fear the Pentagon will lower standards for integrating women into its elite units, according to interviews and documents obtained by The Associated Press.

Studies surveying personnel found "major misconceptions" within special operations about whether women should be put into men-only jobs. They also raised concerns that department heads "would capitulate to political pressure, eroding training standards," according to a document.

Some of these concerns weren't limited to men, researchers found, but were found in women in special surgery jobs.

Dan Bland, director of force management for the U.S. Special Operations Command, told the AP that the research results "have already prompted us to do some other things in terms of force training."

About 68,800 people serve in the command, including 3,000 civilians. The main survey went to about 18,000 people in positions closed to women, and the response rate was about 50 percent. The high response rate, officials said, reflects the widespread interest in the topic.

Military Section 8

The studies are part of the Pentagon's effort to open all military combat positions to women or provide reasons why some jobs should remain closed.

Paratroopers Jump Into The Holidays

An investigation, conducted by the RAND Corp., reflected doubts about whether women could meet general job requirements, found concerns that sexual harassment or assault could increase, and cited concerns about "unequal treatment" of special operations candidates and personnel . Some feared that if women were allowed into some jobs they would be treated harsher.

Investigation details have not been released. This was the first time Special Operations Command officials had publicly discussed the results.

Andy Hamilton, who works with Bland and has expertise in this area, noted that women in special ops roles were also concerned about wider inclusion.

"They are concerned that this could lead to a lowering of standards in what are currently our male-only occupations, and that would have an impact on them or the women who end up in those occupations," Hamilton said.

Interesting! Apparently You Can't Get Out Of The Ukraine Army With A Section 8! It's Encouraged!

Pentagon leaders lifted the ban on women in combat jobs in 2012, but gave the military services time to gradually and systematically integrate women into the male frontline. By January 2016, the military must open all combat jobs to women or explain why exceptions should be made.

Military Secrets - Did the Pentagon spend $22 million investigating UFOs? The Aviation Threat Recognition Project was created by the US Department of Defense to investigate UFOs and is the successor to Project Blue Book. In the 1960s and 1970s, there were so many UFO sightings that the US government created a secret task force to investigate them. Although the project is closed, many do not believe the agency's claims and believe that the project is still operating in secret. And as long as there is a long history of high-level government secrecy, there must be a very vicious conspiracy. theories at any time.

For the most part, you can ignore or deny the news, but the Pentagon has released some pretty crazy reports recently. It is possible that they are. The Department of Defense does investigate some UFO incidents, but the task force found no "clear indication" that they were from aliens.

Military Secrets

Over 50% of secret military projects over the years have been large aircraft with impressive capabilities. As the threat of nuclear war with the Soviet Union grew, the United States focused on developing new methods of monitoring potential threats. The most important defense projects include the design of aircraft that are faster than enemy missiles and radar systems. Perhaps the most famous of these is the SR-71 Blackbird reconnaissance aircraft, which can stay in the air for more than 12 hours. At the height of the Cold War, the US military tried to find a way to use the Blackbird to spy on the Soviet Union. This project is called the "Falcon Project" and is another crazy project involving nuclear power, including a nuclear-powered drone that is said to be able to stay in the air for 30 days.

Secret Us Military Bases Around The World Revealed By Satellites

The aircraft was originally designed for low-altitude loitering and reconnaissance units on the battlefield, but over time that capability changed to include features such as wings and a beak. Nuclear power is the only energy expected to expand the scope of the program. The CIA hopes that nuclear propulsion systems can better optimize and control power. Studying radioisotopes is difficult because they decay. If the resulting heat can be reused, energy can be produced more efficiently. "Falcon" was born from the combination of reconnaissance aircraft and reconnaissance aircraft. Its most unique features include an extendable boat-shaped nose and a detachable camera tail. "Falcon Project" is basically a "bird drone" that can carry out a nuclear flight.

As recently as 2000, Iran was known to have acquired a fleet of military-trained dolphins from Russia, and the dolphins were said to have traveled the Persian Gulf for years. In addition to worrying about Iran's nuclear capabilities, military leaders around the world are also paying close attention to Iran's naval forces. At the turn of this century, as many countries worked hard to develop nuclear weapons, military intelligence agencies noticed speculation that Iran was building an underwater team of weaponized dolphins. Yes, you heard that right. So where did the Iranian navy get the dolphins, where are they now?

As for the military purposes of dolphins, during the Cold War the Soviet Union trained dolphins to counter US use of marine mammals. These dolphins were acquired for government use, but the civilian population was strongly opposed to captive dolphins. The Iranian navy has trained dolphins to detect sea mines and use tridents, poison darts and explosives to attack their enemies. These dolphins are equipped with cameras that will allow the military to survey the area after being attacked. This might be out of the question, but military dolphins throwing poison darts and tridents isn't too fantastic, considering that dolphins are very intelligent.

In the 1970s, the CIA decided to recover parts of the Soviet K-129 nuclear submarine that had sunk in the Pacific Ocean, codenamed Project Azores. The CIA has secret dual-purpose submarines disguised as mining ships that are used to conduct military operations. In 1969, a group of people claiming to be from a marine mining organization showed up at a conference and asked to speak to Curtis Crook, a senior engineer at Universal Marine. Three of them approached Crook and asked him to tell them about a top secret project they were working on. Crook has deep sea drilling experience, which is exactly what these three are looking for.

Top Secret Spy Planes Developed At Area 51

In the 1960s, both the United States and the Soviet Union had nuclear submarines patrolling the high seas. The Soviet ballistic missile submarine K-129 has disappeared in the Pacific Ocean. The submarine was equipped with nuclear missiles that could threaten American cities. Later, with the help of Dr. Crook's expertise, the CIA built a deep-sea recovery vessel to retrieve an abandoned Soviet submarine from the seabed. Some modern historians believe that the ship was struck by lightning, and the Russians also suspected that the explosion was an enemy torpedo attack.

The Stargate Project is a $20 million US government-funded project dedicated to the study of psychic phenomena such as remote viewing. The study of psychic phenomena is primarily intended to test the existence of sensory perception and to determine whether this ability is useful for military intelligence. Some claimed that this military project was initiated by a Major General named Albert Stubbin and carried out by Lieutenant Frederick Holmes Atwater, who was nicknamed the "Psychic Bounty Hunter". school supervision. The US government funds Stargate research, hiring clairvoyants and psychics to try to detect enemies thousands of miles away through their remote sensing capabilities. I did some research and found the scientific community is very skeptical of the supernatural. The reaction of those scientists is that they are very interested in the supernatural.

During World War II, D-Day was the largest military operation in human history. However, the fact remained that the Allied preparations for the Normandy landings described an imaginary way to break through German resistance. The Pangasm is a giant wooden rocket cart loaded with dozens of explosives. British forces tried to use it to destroy a coastal defense bunker on a beach in Normandy, northern France.

Military Secrets

Its design is very simple, it can roll down the beach at lightning speed and explode. It is said to be a weapon that can be launched from a ship and move as fast as a tank. For example, in one test, a missile veered 40 miles off course and nearly killed a dog. This is one of the craziest stories of World War II. Even by today's standards, building this project would be a significant engineering feat. In late 1943, several departments prototyped the Pangasm in London.

Eu Greenlights New Wave Of Military Projects, Secret Agents Training

Most people believe that nuclear power will rule the 20th century as the nuclear arms race heats up. There were many secret projects in the 1950s, but Cold War tensions drove much of the development of nuclear power. Most people worry about nuclear weapons, but the famous car manufacturer Chrysler is joking with this half-life nuclear-powered tank... and this is the nuclear tank development plan, codenamed "TV8".

For obvious reasons, the US military tried to keep the new research secret. The peculiarity of the TV-8 tank is the design of the tower, which is much larger than the hull itself. It's weird to see a tank that has a few special features and a turret that tells you what's inside. One of the most amazing things is its very light weight of only 25 tons. But perhaps the strangest thing is that the reactor is hidden inside the tower. In addition to the obvious failed experiment, some weapons experts believe that designing a tank in a vacuum may not be a good idea if the tank is hit.

Most people have never heard of a secret military project called Aurora, but the truth is that this project is stranger than you might imagine.
